Hi Butterflyflyfree Thanks so much for your post, my next line care appointment is at chemo on Wednesday so I'll ask them about the options you suggest and see what they say. I feel like I shouldn't moan about it as in the grand scheme of things at the moment it shouldn't be that big a deal, but the constant stinging is driving me crazy! Thanks again, and all the best to you for your treatment.

I'm halfway through FEC-T and had a PICC line fitted before my second cycle due to problems accessing a vein at my first chemo appointment. Despite having sensitive dressings over my PICC, my skin seems to react really badly, meaning that when the dressing is removed each week at my line care appointment bits of skin come away with it. This doesn't seem to get chance to heal as it's then immediately covered with another dressing. Last week the nurse applied some barrier cream, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference, if anything my skin seems worse this week. I've never had issues with sensitive skin before, and the nurses don't know why ots happened and have said I'm just unlucky. But it's making my line care appointments really painful, and I'm constantly dreading the next dressing change. Any advice on how to deal with this? I'm starting to wonder if I should ask for the line to be removed, but I'd prefer to keep it as it makes chemo so much easier.
