Hi

I was diagnosed with primary and secondary breast cancer in Aug 16. I was put on 18 rounds of weekly paclitaxol. I didn’t have any horrendous side effects. I lost my hair after a few cycles and suffered slight tingling in my fingers which still hasn’t gone away. I also lost some toenails and finger nails. I found that I was quite tired for a few days after treatment so I listened to my body and did nothing.

Hope this helps. Take care xx

Hi Croc, thanks for replying to my post. I've already lost my hair, I just wear scarves, I quite like them lol. Hope I don't get too many side effects. Thank you for letting me know. Best wishes for the future and good luck.

Hi Mini mad, thanks for the information it will be useful.. I didn't know that about the fluid, so that's good to know. I'm ok with needles but they struggle to find a vein sometimes. I can only have it in one arm too because of lymph node removal. Thank you for replying and good luck hope everything goes well for you.

Re: Paclitaxel

Forgot to say you need to drink plenty,  2 litres or more if possible.  You can include any fluids ie. water, tea, coffee, melon, ice lollies and i include the milk on my cereal.

i write it down every day because i had 4 awful days feeling really unwell.  Turns out i hadnt drunk enough and was dehydrated so before my chemo i had iv fluids.

I also had a picc line fitted as i''m awful with needles and they could only use one hand for the cannulas 😬😬   Xx

Re: Paclitaxel

Hi,

i am on Paclitaxel at the moment.  This friday will be number 9 of 12.

my side effects were varied,  fatigue, headaches, some bone pain in hips n knees, some insomnia and hair loss.  But these werent all together , each day/week was different  and not  everyone gets all side effects. my hair loss was after my 4th session but havent lost it completely even now but wear a scarf mostly.  Still have my eyebrows , lashes and nails are still good.

Any other questions pls ask,  if i can help.  Good luck... mini mad xx 💖

Paclitaxel

Just wondered if anyone's been on paclitaxel. I'm due to start it in the next few weeks, waiting for letter in post. Wanted to know if there's any bad side effects or anything else I should know about. Thanks. Shelly.xx
