Re: Care package

A special friend of mine who lives the other end of the country sent me after the op a beaded wall hanging with the word Love, it felts it was all I needed really.

My other friend who lives overseas sent me one of the special expanding pop out greeting cards of a vase of flowers that was pretty special too.

I think some pampering oil is good, I bought myself a lavender body oil in T K Max, its wonderful and I continue to use this and other oils,  the NHS My Trusty, cream and oils are good too.  I have the body oil in that as well.  Just have to spoil ourselves without holding back.

Re: Care package

Thank you girls. A few things I hadn't thought of. I have got:

Ginger biscuits

Set of false eyelashes

Small box of chocolates

Mints

I've also put a little list of useful websites. This one included.

Re: Care package

Hi

I received a lovely and very thoughtful one containing a slanket, lip balm, eye drops, unscented moisturiser and facial wipes...all are coming in extremely handy.

Re: Care package

Hi Smiles

I think the contents will be way less important than the gesture. When I received my knitted knocker in its little gauze bag, including a packet of lovehearts and a card saying ‘A gift from one woman to another,’ I was perilously close to tears (I haven’t been able to cry at all throughout the whole damn’ thing), I was so touched and your friend will be too.

I’ll start the ball rolling with soft socks or bedsocks (kicking off my shoes was great but the place is hardly cosy) and a soothing essential oil she can drop onto a tissue and have a whiff now and then to replace the hospital smell. I opted for lemon at the hospital and rose at home. Small mints like TicTacs and sugar free sweets like Ricola lemon-mint are handy too. A nice A4 plastic wallet for her appointment letters etc will be useful too, if she’s not the sort to have a houseful, like me! Hopefully other members will have inspiring suggestions but keep it light - I remember really struggling towards the end to carry my bag.

Care package

I went through treatment 9 years ago and my friend is about to start her chemo with FEC T . I had the same treatment but need some help.

I'm trying to put together a little gift bag with things that may help her through her treatment.  Has anyone got any ideas as to what I can add
