Dont worry I will be. I have my mum coming over in two weeks, she is staying with my brother, and we are going to spend a lot of mum and daughter quality time together. I am also going out with some friends in the evening over the coming weeks so looking forward to that as well.
Yep it has been interesting bowling on some days. We played last Sunday at 10.30am thinking it would be so much cooler, wrong!! by the time we finished 3 hours later the sun was relentless. We all got excited on Tuesday evening as it went very cloudy and they were black clouds. None of us were going to get our waterproofs if it did, unfortunately they blew over without dropping anything. The other side of this weather is that the greens!! are very dry so are like grease lightening, its like playing on an indoor carpet and trying to keep your bowls on the green is a struggle.
Good to hear that mate, make sur eyou do, it will be hard on you for a while. Also a tip keep up your water intake levels, I still do even two years later and I know on days when I havent as I get home and fall asleep.
Got my op date now for 18 September so I will be on an enforced 6 week "holiday". Starting to get everything ready for then, I am afraid I am a planner and need to make sure everything is sorted so that I dont mither about it.
We have the breeze here but it is very very humid, currently sitting in the lounge with the patio doors and front door wide open to try and create a through draught
That is great news. I must admit I have not had an annual blood test for calcium either, I take a VitD/calcium tablet twice a day. Mind you I have had enough blood tests in the last few months to last me a lifetime I think, and I am having another set at the end of August prior to my hysterectomy in September so I am sure it would have shown up if there was a problem.
I am assuming you are going back on a phased return to work, so make sure that you stick to it mate as you will need it xxx
Mushy/Alibobs - my job has been at risk for last 18 months and really get what you mean - like you I reckon stress probably plays a huge part. I find out this week what will happen to me and hoping redundancy payout allows me some time out to get fitter and balance out a bit after what can be best described as a roller coaster of a year. It’s such an unnerving time knowing your job is at risk and such changes hang over you from the minute management communicate it’s happening until you find out what it means to you personally
Im having a blood test early Sept and Onco said it was to test for cancer related proteins - watch this space as will get results mid Sept - gulp!
Hello lovely ladies. Phew, it is hard doing working in this heat. So I went to see the new Mamma Mia movie yesterday and had a great time - thoroughly recommended if you liked the first one. But have a tissue on hand - it gets a bit teary towards the end.
Hi Alibob, Bootleg Beatles sound fab My blue bit is still there after 6.5 months - looks like a bruise, think you may be going for a world record though 😂. @ Shi, I’m great thanks - spent the day at Nottingham’s finest festival Spendour. Some great acts including Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Bjorn Again, Marc Almond and Paloma Faith - loving that we are having proper summer, could do with a Club Tropicana pool in the garden though to cool off 🌊🏖
Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the Summer ☀️☀️☀️
So I spent yesterday afternoon sat on centre court at Wimbledon. Fabulous.
Please please please may life be on the up. The shadow of cancer always looms doesn’t it.
Lovely to hear from you, sounds like a very busy has been had by you xxx
Alibobs (and everyone else) - my date was lovely. So was the second one. And we have a third this coming week. Daring to believe that life might be on an upward trajectory at last.
Been off the radar for a bit as returned to work in May 30th wedding anniversary and holiday in June and just had 3 month oncologist appointment 😌
Mishy don't return to work if you can manage without . I was expecting the new team to be in place when I returned but instead 2 had resigned and so has my line manager so a very unstable unhappy place . So I just go in do my 50% hours do as little as possible and wait to see what hair brained scheme the new boss comes up with😞
I even find that hard and I admit I probably returned too soon but as I'm the only earner half pay wasn't an option but as I'm getting new side effects which oncologist things are caused by the Tamoxifen I will stay on reduced hours for another 3 months
On a happy note my hair is starting to really grow although it is very grey but also quiet wavy 〰 Il always had straight hair 😯😯
We had a few days a way in Guernsey for our 30 in a posh hotel so was able to relax and unwind
Hope you are enjoying the sunshine🌞🌞👒👒🕶🕶
Although the heat isn't helping with the hot flushes
Hope you all have a great weekend xx
Lovely ladies - I got the results of my first annual mammograms last night and they are clear. Massive huge relief.
Alibobs - it was uncomfortable but it did not hurt. The lady doing the scans was really careful and increased the pressure ever so slightly. She also did my non BC breast first, so I got used to the feel of the machine again. Rest assured I would have told her if it was unbearable! - but it got nowhere near that point.
So now the mammogram is done, I can divulge one more thing - I have a date today. First one since I was divorced 6 years ago. Met a chap on holiday in Spain and we have stayed in touch. More nervous about the date than I was about the damn mammogram!!!
Morning ladies of Club Tropicana,💃💃💃💃🌴 my first mammogram is due just before Christmas - found out I had cancer on 22/12 so that made Christmas tough last year. Have asked them to delay until the first week in Jan - Nurse looked shocked that I’d asked but as you say until people walk in our shoes.....Hope all goes well for those waiting for results 🤞🏻Off to sunny Cornwall tomorrow and hoping left bap behaves itself as lots of body boarding planned 🌊
Alibobs it really doesn't hurt, just a bit of squashing , ive had 3 post treatment now and they are as gentle and a quick as they can be so don't worry Xx Jo
