Re: isotope bone scan anyone?

Wow, what a relief Catokitty, but as Janey says, what an absolute nightmare that you had to get so stressed. The naproxen seems to have done some good as certainly don't feel such pain as I have done -- perhaps your doc could oblige for you. Still a bit scared to do my physio exercises, but seeing him next week, so need to get a move on. Thanks for return of big girl pants - at least you'd washed  them - unlike Janey!!Cat Very Happyxxx

Phew for results but having to beg is rotten. Rubycat is currently experiencing high call volume demand for aforementioned big pants! X

Re: isotope bone scan anyone?

Well I called the hospital again today and was told someone would write to me with the bone scan results in a week or so and they do not ring with results. I begged and pleaded for a phone call and the registrar has just called to tell me it is absolutely fine and normal.  What a relief but I have waited nearly 4 weeks and have been so stressed out I can't help feeling a bit upset. Never mind it's all good. Thanks for the loan of the big girl pants. Hopefully I won't need them until next year for next annual mammogram xx

Re: isotope bone scan anyone?

Well done Catokitty for trying to get results. Can just imagine the fear when you heard 'you've got another investigation booked' - don't these people have any training in how to alleviate our anxiety???? Ooooh.  I really am of the belief that no news is good news, but, yes, think it will be you constantly chasing up the results, so the big girl pants are in your safe hands.  My back pain does seem to be dwindling, at least I can stand upright and toddle about without the stick now! Re: isotope bone scan anyone?

I rang yesterday and was told it has not been reported yet and I will be contacted once they receive result from radiology. I guess this means I will have to keep chasing. Girl I spoke to gave me a fright because she told me I had been booked for another investigation but when she checked it was only my next annual mammogram.  I am almost past worrying now.  I do hope you get your pain under control soon.  My pain is pretty minimal and I wish I had never brought the subject up. I've got the big girl pants on standby!

Re: isotope bone scan anyone?

Hope you've had some good results now Catokitty. If you haven't heard, borrow Janey and my big girl pants and give surgery a ring!!  I did ask for a copy of my results, needless to say they haven't arrived.

Doc did phone, and xray showed widespread degenerative - think that's osteoarthritis, but not sure.  Trouble is, I've had such a bad back this week, can hardly move at all and bent double. Doc has prescribed Naproxen and something else for stomach because of the Naproxen! (name gone out of my head).  Is a bit better today, but now wondering whether these are now tablets I've got to take FOREVER, or just when the pain is bad. Doc didn't explain.  She also said the bone scan showed focal uptake which was 'probably benign' - I bloody hope so - thought that one was 'satisfactory', but was ok.

Oh the joys.Cat Happyxxx

Re: isotope bone scan anyone?

Fab news Rubycat! I am so pleased for you. What a relief! I was told 2 weeks for my results so I am going to ring on Friday.  I have been doing Pilates and my hip is feeling a lot better now so I am really banking on it just being arthritic changes. I don't have a clinic appointment until next year so I am praying I can get the results without endless chasing up. Hope you get more info on spine on Thursday x

Re: isotope bone scan anyone?

Good news  I put on my big girl pants and phoned the docs - hooray, I'm 'satisfactory' with the bone scan. Hope you're also doing ok Catokitty.  Think I'll be like you on the wear and tear for the spine xray, that's come back 'abnormal' - now waiting for Doc to phone on Thursday - otherwise would have to wait until 28 Feb - far too far away!!

Re: isotope bone scan anyone?

Oh dear big girl pants turned into toddler ones, as I threw a bit of a paddy and a weep in the phone to my boss. Sadly, it seems to have been what was needed. I'm not a cryer at work and now cross I had cross tears! Heigh ho it's Friday and that gin beckons! Xxx

Re: isotope bone scan anyone?

Hello Catokitty - purrfect name by the way!  Yes, hoping my pain is arthritis too  - what a thing to hope for. Also just diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my hands - all of which I'm putting down to anastrozole - not that it could be my grand age (62 - couldn't be that, could it?).  Yes, big girl pants have helped today, and all the lovely people on this forum.  Off to watch Game of Thrones, which stops me thinking - too much drooling over some of the actors!  Do let me know how you get on - hugs to you.
