Wow, what a relief Catokitty, but as Janey says, what an absolute nightmare that you had to get so stressed. The naproxen seems to have done some good as certainly don't feel such pain as I have done -- perhaps your doc could oblige for you. Still a bit scared to do my physio exercises, but seeing him next week, so need to get a move on. Thanks for return of big girl pants - at least you'd washed them - unlike Janey!!xxx
Phew for results but having to beg is rotten. Rubycat is currently experiencing high call volume demand for aforementioned big pants! X
Well I called the hospital again today and was told someone would write to me with the bone scan results in a week or so and they do not ring with results. I begged and pleaded for a phone call and the registrar has just called to tell me it is absolutely fine and normal. What a relief but I have waited nearly 4 weeks and have been so stressed out I can't help feeling a bit upset. Never mind it's all good. Thanks for the loan of the big girl pants. Hopefully I won't need them until next year for next annual mammogram xx
Well done Catokitty for trying to get results. Can just imagine the fear when you heard 'you've got another investigation booked' - don't these people have any training in how to alleviate our anxiety???? Ooooh. I really am of the belief that no news is good news, but, yes, think it will be you constantly chasing up the results, so the big girl pants are in your safe hands. My back pain does seem to be dwindling, at least I can stand upright and toddle about without the stick now! xxx
I rang yesterday and was told it has not been reported yet and I will be contacted once they receive result from radiology. I guess this means I will have to keep chasing. Girl I spoke to gave me a fright because she told me I had been booked for another investigation but when she checked it was only my next annual mammogram. I am almost past worrying now. I do hope you get your pain under control soon. My pain is pretty minimal and I wish I had never brought the subject up. I've got the big girl pants on standby!
Hope you've had some good results now Catokitty. If you haven't heard, borrow Janey and my big girl pants and give surgery a ring!! I did ask for a copy of my results, needless to say they haven't arrived.
Doc did phone, and xray showed widespread degenerative - think that's osteoarthritis, but not sure. Trouble is, I've had such a bad back this week, can hardly move at all and bent double. Doc has prescribed Naproxen and something else for stomach because of the Naproxen! (name gone out of my head). Is a bit better today, but now wondering whether these are now tablets I've got to take FOREVER, or just when the pain is bad. Doc didn't explain. She also said the bone scan showed focal uptake which was 'probably benign' - I bloody hope so - thought that one was 'satisfactory', but was ok.
Oh the joys.xxx
Fab news Rubycat! I am so pleased for you. What a relief! I was told 2 weeks for my results so I am going to ring on Friday. I have been doing Pilates and my hip is feeling a lot better now so I am really banking on it just being arthritic changes. I don't have a clinic appointment until next year so I am praying I can get the results without endless chasing up. Hope you get more info on spine on Thursday x
Good news I put on my big girl pants and phoned the docs - hooray, I'm 'satisfactory' with the bone scan. Hope you're also doing ok Catokitty. Think I'll be like you on the wear and tear for the spine xray, that's come back 'abnormal' - now waiting for Doc to phone on Thursday - otherwise would have to wait until 28 Feb - far too far away!!
Rubycat you are never whingey. If you can tell us where to buy your brand of big girl pants, I shall go shopping tomorrow! Good luck to you both waiting and here's to box sets! X
Hi Rubycat I am 62 as well so let's hope we are just getting old and decrepit. Enjoy GOT. I will post when I get results. Hope yours come quickly xx
Hello Catokitty - purrfect name by the way! Yes, hoping my pain is arthritis too - what a thing to hope for. Also just diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my hands - all of which I'm putting down to anastrozole - not that it could be my grand age (62 - couldn't be that, could it?). Yes, big girl pants have helped today, and all the lovely people on this forum. Off to watch Game of Thrones, which stops me thinking - too much drooling over some of the actors! Do let me know how you get on - hugs to you. xxx
Rubycat I am currently in the same boat waiting for result of bone scan done last Friday. I have some mild hip pain which GP said was probably arthritis and I had an x-ray which showed some wear and tear. At my BC follow up consultant said I must have a bone scan to be on the safe side although he expects it to come back normal. I am struggling not to give way to panic but I guess we just have to keep the big girl pants on and keep going. I am now going to pour myself a glass of wine x
Thank you Ann, feeling brighter today - was a right wingebag yesterday and feeling sorry for myself. Got my big girl pants on now (well, wearing them everyday anyway!).xxx
Getting myself into a frazzle. Had an isotope bone scan yesterday as been having constant pain in my lower back - for months - Doctor said scan would 'put my mind at rest'!! Had got a bit anxious before the scan, but now back to that dreadful panicky feeling from just diagnosed stage (which was March 2015). Thought I was just having the full body bone scan, which lasted about 20 mins, then mutterings amongst the radiographers and I had another 10min scan centred around hip/lower back area. Sending myself into a frenzy about that now. I know ALL I have to do is wait for the Doc to contact me, but finding this tricky - well, that's a silly word. Will calm myself down now, deep breathing, having had this moan, sorry everyone. Needed to get that off my chest, yes, do feel better now. Thank you all. xxx
