Re: October 2018 Chemo starters

Afternoon ladies

I'm so pleased to hear that you're both doing well, Aneeebel and ElliesMum

I'm still in I'm afraid. My neuts were up to 7 something yesterday but blood test today says something called kracken (I'm not sure this is the right wird) which forms the bloid molecules isn't quite there yet. So I'm back on the drip for 8 hrs. Oral antibiotics started last night añd pleased to say no adverse reaction. Blood test again in morning.

Take care ladies, enjoy your Sunday.

Re: October 2018 Chemo starters

Sorry to hear you’re being kept in for a bit longer, Fiona. 😞 Big hugs! Hopefully the extra day in hospital helps get you back on track. Fingers crossed for some smooth sailing for the rest of this cycle! 💕🤞

How are the rest of you ladies getting on? I’m ok so far after my second T chemo on Friday, although I’m still bracing myself for the side effects to kick in over the next few days. I’m hoping the reduced dosage (and extra meds) will help me tolerate things better this time around!

Love and hugs to you all! Xox 😘💐💕

Re: October 2018 Chemo starters

Noooo it's just not fair. Potassium was because my kidneys weren't performing so well. Blood count has reacted to the 💃💃💃and is 7.something. great news. Bad news is they will swap me to oral antibiotics but want to keep an eye on me for at least 24 hrs. So I guess I'm not home until Monday 😦😢

I wouldn't mind so much if they'd have given me an idea of what might happen and how long it could potentially take.

Stay safe and warm ladies 💪💪 sending you big hugs from Casa NHS 🤗🤗🤗

Re: October 2018 Chemo starters

I’m sorry you have to stay in hospital a little longer, Fiona, but good that your team are doing something about your low potassium while you’re there. Could you get your husband or a friend to bring you a goody bag to make your stay more tolerable? I’m thinking eye mask, headphones, decent food, proper coffee (if your taste buds have returned). Maybe binge on Netflix or iPlayer box sets? Watching “The Good Place” got me through my stay - perfect blend of light-hearted/easy viewing whilst still being interesting. Thinking of you! Xox 💕💐🤞

Re: October 2018 Chemo starters

Thanks ElliesMum. I don't think they'll let me go today. I don't know what my blood count is but I'm low on potassium so they've put me on a drop for 8 hrs. So much for me feeling positive.

I hope you all have a good day 💪💪

Thanks Fiona, and so pleased that you’re starting to feel better. Shi’s neutrophil dance 💃 has been super effective in the past, so fingers crossed it works for you! I hope your blood counts jump up very soon and you make it home today. 🏡🤞

Keep your heads up, ladies. We are over half way through chemo now. We can do this! 👍😘💐👊💕

Re: October 2018 Chemo starters

Oh Fiona, how frustrating for you! As Badboob and Aneebel have already said, we’re all thinking of you and hoping that you recover as quickly as possible! Fingers crossed you’re well enough to go home tomorrow.🤞💕💐

Yay Aneebel, we have crossed off chemo #5.💪🥰 I survived spending almost 7 hours in the chemo unit (actually, I took my laptop with me and was surprisingly productive!) and didn’t suffer any adverse reactions to the herceptin.👍 Good news!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. Let us know how you get on, Fiona! Xox 💕💐😘

Oh Fiona!

What can I say! How completely miserable for you. Of course you want to be at home not stuck in hospital! So sending positive thoughts and if I could I would share some of my WBCs with you!

Chin up chuck we’re all here holding your virtual hand.

Hugs x

Re: October 2018 Chemo starters

How are we doing ladies? Hope chemo is going well today.

Looks like I'm in tonight too. Bloods gone from 0.06 yesterday to 0.38 today 👍🏻but temp going up again at 37.8😲 Mouth swab says no infection or flu. I know I'm in the right place but I don't want to be here. I just want to cry now but what's the point as I've got to accept the situation. I'm tired too which makes the emotions worse.

I'm sorry for going on, I'm not always this miserable honest 🤔

Take care everyone

Re: October 2018 Chemo starters

While it is super crappy that you’re unwell enough to have earned a stay at Casa NHS, Fiona, as Aneeebel says it’s the best place to be. Good work calling it in when your temperature was raised. I also found I started to feel better quite quickly once hooked up to the IV antibiotics; hopefully they start to kick in for you soon. Hospitals aren’t the best places for getting a decent sleep, I’m afraid. 🤦‍♀️ I’m definitely packing an eye mask and noise-cancelling headphones if I have to stay overnight again!!! 🙈

Thanks for the good wishes for today. As it’s my first herceptin dose, I have to spend 6 hours at the chemo unit!?! Oh well. I’ve convinced my husband that he should keep me company (as he has the day off). 😂 Best of luck to you too today, Aneeebel.🤞💪

Love to you all! Xox 💕👊💐😘

Good Morning Girls.... (I've been awake that long I'm ready for my dinner!!)

Thanks Fiona...
I know it's a pain being in hospital but it's better to be safe.... You should start feeling a better quite quickly with the intravenous antibiotics!
Thinking of you x 😘💗🍇💐

Hope all goes well today ElliesMum... 💗😘

Stay strong Ladies x 🎀

Re: October 2018 Chemo starters

Good morning ladies

Aneeebel and ElliesMum, good luck for today, I hope chemo goes well 🤞🏻

Badboob, that's great news that it's shrinking. I know mine is too but they haven't done any scans, I can't feel it at all now.

So I was feeling left out and decided I needed to join the club. Yep, Club Casa NHS. My temperature was fluctuating too much yesterday afternoon so I was told to come in. Not much of a party, I have to say. A rubbish night's sleep while hooked up to antibiotics, bloods were very low, bp and temp being taken every 2 hours. I don't know if they'll let me out today, depends on my bloods later this morning 😢💩 oh well, that's cancer I suppose.

Again, good luck for today ladies and all of you stay safe 💪💪
