Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Oh well, Doris it is then. Any tips for encouraging it to drop rather than grow straight out?

Helena, sorry I missed that you'd had an op. Hope you're on the mend now.

Someone was asking about amitryptiline. I was on it many years (10 or 20mg) for neuropathic pain from my paralysed arm. I eventually had to move on to Pregabalin as the pain increased. Talk about rattling, I need a suitcase just for all the pills I take.

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Buddy i persisted im almost worried that i may have lost mine in the cut as it grew down they became more of a curl/wave my advice to you all is once the mullet at the back gets too much get it tapered in the continue growing it buddy my hair stsrted coming back in January in August i lost the mullet then Yesterday was able to have a proper style so its a slow process and it tends to grow out and in thickness i even had to have mine slightly thinned in places!!!

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

😘😘😘hi sue, so glad you are having a recharge during half term 👍👍it’s full on when you are back full time and you’ve done really well ❤️❤️hi buddyfan, we have to do the clown, Doris from bingo, mullet look if we are aiming for a nice bob, I just would like it long enough to get the straighteners through it, having my 94 year old gran admiring my (shampoo and set look) telling me how nice it is, isn’t doing it for me. But hey we’ve got hair 😁😁😁and this time last year we would have been delirious with this much hair. Not hard enough like meesh or dizzy were doing the cold cap. Hang on in there, mai7 didn’t cut hers and she’s rocking a right coco Chanel now ❤️❤️love to everyone, jencat are you ok darling? Ali, hope you are ok too sweety 💕💕💕✨✨✨Shi xx

Ladies, reminding you that you were two months ahead of me losing hair, do I persist with the clown hair in the hope that eventually it will become heavy enough to drop down. I want the curls but not the clown hair look!

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Hey ladies had my first Proper haircut i mean an actual style not just bits trimmed away to make a kind of style irs a pixie_Bob can be worn straight or my curly wurly she had to dry it straight but i think it will look more funky and on trend curly wavy im so chuffed no evidence that my barnett was tge result of chemo something to look forward to ladies for thise of yiu still experimenting with different things to do with the hair its definitely worth braving it oht as long as you can i did have the mullet bit removed in August but braved it out rather than keep getting it chopped offand pleased now i waited 👍 i will add i don't think im going back to my long hair im quite liking the shorter look ii have been told i look younger!!!!

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Hello ladies!

Buddyfan, Jencat, Mishy how're you all doing? Work at the moment is manic for me, but I'm managing. We're thinking about doing some renovations to our lounge as well recarpeting upstairs but it won't be done before Xmas now. Is everyone planning lovely things for the festive period? I know I am after missing out last year 😊

Hope youre all doing ok 🤗🤗❤️❤️😘😘

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Hi rabbit28, my symptoms are bladder spasms that are quite uncomfortable. It feels like the inside of my bladder is sore. It usually gets worse as the day progresses but is okish again by the morning. It can hurt to wee or immediately afterwards but nothing like when I had cystitis in my 20’s. I have tested positive for infection a couple of times and have been given a few courses of antibiotics which have done nothing. I’ve read into it quite a bit and it seems that there are a few common triggers that make it worse. Tea and coffee even decaf, alcohol (boo), citrus fruit, tomatoes and chilli peppers. All my favourite things 🙄. The other thing to avoid is cranberry juice which I’d been having loads of thinking it was an infection but apparently it is a big no with this. Hope you find something that helps, I’ve reduced my tea and coffee intake, stopped the cranberry and only drink a couple of glasses of red at the weekend and mine is manageable at the moment. I’m holding off taking the tablets if I can avoid it, I take enough already x

Re: October 2017 Chemo Starters

Hi Chaffinch, can I ask what symptoms you has with the bladder syndrome. I'm experiencing issues since chemo and starting tamoxifen which oncologist believes is linked to low oestrogen levels. Hope all you October ladies are keeping well xx
