Well done Lesley xx enjoy the lay in tomorrow
It's freezing here too heating back on and deciding if decision to ditch the wig was a good idea just hope it's a bit warmer next week when I start back at work
Hope everyone is doing ok
Bythesea can you send some of your 🌞back down here 🙃😊
thanks anadan - I took a picture of my BP readings to show them in the hospital to prove I wasn't fibbing!
Internet and phone lines restored after having lost them for a while there!
wrap up warm everyone
Hurray! Lesley 👏👏💜 well done, you’re a star!! And use your wig in these extreme weather conditions, wear it out, you won’t need it very soon 😜
JC, hugs to you, hope you feel ok about your mammogram tomorrow 💕
I took the dogs for a walk in our beautiful forestry centre, the trees were making spooky noises in thewind ...
it’s a pre op asessment for me tomorrow I’ve been taking my blood pressure at home for a few days to prove it only jumps up really high in hospital conditions 🤭
Have a good week evereyone ☀️
Aw, Lesley - what a marker in the pesky process we have shared. I am ringing metaphorical bells with you and sending all the love. Hunker down and stay warm today - there will lots of time to celebrate and mark how far you've come. Getting to know you has been such a positive out of a horrid time. You're a gold jumpsuit-wearing star. xx
This email gave me such a fright! Even though the wig is sitting on a stand pretty much next to me! (It's just some Uber newsletter thing...)
Happy Monday everyone!
Hello November team, I don't know if you have come across the brilliant Jo who runs abcdiagnosis, but she is organising 3 BC exercise retreats later this year. You can find out more about what's involved on Jo's website here: http://www.abcdiagnosis.co.uk/lifestyle/abcd-retreat/.
They are for all levels, including those who want to start/return to exercise safely and held in a beautiful part of the country. I am going to the October one and am really looking forward to it. There are dates in June, September and October. xx
Before my hair was chestnut but what's coming through is a mixture of dark brown black and grey but more grey 😱😰
I shaved my underarms as soon as I had the dressings removed as that was before chemo two weeks of growth and not seen water thought surgeon was going to fall over 👃🏓
I didn't say anything when renewed car insurance we only plan to fly to Guernsey for a few days for our 30th in June and as OH doesn't drive I didn't want to hire a car as they might ask too many questions but will try Saga as if I don't get some I can quarentee something will go wrong with the flights
Looks like it's going to be a wet and cold weekend😕😕
We're going to Turkey for a week at the end of May and have just taken out an annual travel insurance costing £358 for myself & 2 daughters (OH has his own). We had to tick boxes saying I had been diagnosed for BC for less than 2 years, that it hadn't spread beyond my breasts and that I was on ongoing medication.
Lesley - champneys sounds exactly what the doctor ordered, especially with today's wet weather 🌧
I should be having a wax today but I've a cousin staying and a bone density scan so cancelled. They did say I would probably be more tender - and they wouldn't let me book a massage due to lymph nodes 🙄
I haven't booked a holiday abroad as I thought it was hard to get travel insurance
It's cold and wet here might even have to put hearing back on 😞😱
Why is it also when I decide to go wig less as I was getting to hot it has now gone cold so l have to wear a wholly hat 😰
Bythesea - you will breeze thru rads I would have thought after all you have been thru! I haven't felt any fatigue with the rads at all, compared to chemo it's a walk in the park. The worse bit is the travelling and the fact that it is every day, but I got into the swing of it - are you on the ferry every day??
I meant to ask you, when do you actually go away on holiday - I jet off on the 26th June ☀️ - you must be sometime around then??
Thanks Bythesea for recommending that documentary. I have been nervous about watching much about breast cancer as it often made me feel worse, but that programme was brilliant. The tone was spot on - honest, constructive, appropriately hopeful, informative and reassuring. I loved it and would not have seen it if not for you suggesting it. x
Glad I have raised a smile or two!!
Bythesea - just watched that cancer documentary - really lovely programme - wouldn't that have been useful to watch before all this started ... so reassuring .... or is that just with the gift of hindsight?
Off to make some chilli sausage rolls and then watch the second episode!!
Thanks so much for the love and support everyone. I had the best night's sleep I have had for ages and it felt good.
Then I got to start my Friday with a mental image of a gold-suited Lesley shattering a bell as she finishes rads. It just gets better!
How is everyone doing? Sending happy weekend vibes to you all, especially Anadan as she prepares for the next step. We're here for you, always. xx
