Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

Lesley try not to fill up, I had some moments last week when they told me surgery might be sooner as chemo plateaued. All it left me with was big red dry wrinkly eyes Not what one needed before course! No amount of tips can disguise wrinkles!
I think I just wanted someone to tell me I was going to be ok. So Lesley your not going anywhere soon. We all love you and we don't need new wrinkles on top of everything else. So chin up and sherry down! xxx.
Sending lots of love and hugs to all November ladies xxxxx
Oh....... has anyone else got a sprouting of armpit hair?????? :0(

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

I think this is an emotional time for us as the end of chemo is in sight and most of you still have a journey to go on. That's why we will still need each other as we continue on our separate journies.

I've been more crabby than emotional this week. I did have my pancakes earlier followed by a nice relaxing bubble 🛀ready to see onc tomorrow, which will hopefully be good for us all.

Keep up with your meds anadan and you’ll be on the home straight.

I’m having a bad night, keep filling up for no reason - really don’t know what’s sparked it off.

Early night and a fresh day ...... hopefully I’ll be back on form tomorrow

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

I had to cancel my LGFB because I had an infection Smiley Sad I’ve moved it to April, after chemo, to make sure I can make it : and now there’s something to look forward to xx

I’ve noticed we’re living a celebrity life 😂😂:

- shave like Sinead O’Connor / Carla Delavigne

- shine like Kojak

- bathe like W Houston

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

Ooooft I go away on LGFB course and now there's loads to catch up on!
I would love a meet up for bubbles but don't think I'll make it so another time sounds super x. I'm waiting to hear tomorrow if surgery will be on 28th Feb argh!!!!! Might need to wait till scars settle before bringing them to London and flashing them off :0)
Anadan sorry to hear your still sore but the cocaine option I think will defo help, maybe not in the bath of Epsom salts tho! Look what happened to Whitney!!!!
Lesley sorry your also sore :0( No need to turn up naked to LGFB they give you the bag then you go through it starting with the cleanser to take everything off.
I would recommend it to all ladies. It did what it said on the tin xxx
Off to attempt pancakes now!

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

Just had a lovely lunch with friends, perking me up to see oncologist tomorrow and 🤞 last chemo on Friday.

I didn't have pancakes as I'm saving them for tonight 😋🥞

Lesley, sorry your aches and pains have lasted all day. Have you taken anything for them or had a hot bath - hopefully they'll ease later. If your temp is still high maybe phone your unit.🤒😟

Anadan I had terrible pains on my last FEC , particularly in jaw & cheek area, along with a sore mouth. They gave me a selection of mouthwashes to use along with regular paracetamol & cocodimol. I hope it eases for you soon. I used to put a hot water bottle or microwavable hottie under my cheek. 😓

Take care all

AnnaKarenina - it's sort of good you can't make it - gives us an excuse to do it again! 😍

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

you are all putting me to shame with your pancakes - we are having ours on Friday when me and the OH get together with syprup and ice cream!

Are we allowed to give up Chemo for Lent??

Otter - if I were you, I'd have a nice hot bath and use the lemons meant for your pancakes in a hot toddy instead - plenty of whisky!  Should go down a treat with the cocaine!  You wild child you!

My pelvis crush has continued thru the day and my temp is all over the place ... and I thought I was doing so well!

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

Hello everyone,

First, a huge and gentle hug for Anadan. I am so sorry that you're in such pain. It is just the most tiring, wearing and difficult symptom. I wish you a more peaceful time whether it be morphine (or cocaine!) induced, so you can get some rest and respite from feeling wretched. When is your next chemo?

I am thrilled that there is the possibility of a get together, but less thrilled than I can't make it. Unfortunately it is three days before chemo number 8 (assuming I stay on schedule) which is also my last one, so I probably ought not to be out counting my chemo chickens before they have hatched and I have completed the course. I also have a longstanding commitment to speak at a conference at City Hall so will be across and down the river waving to you Prosecco peeps and wishing I could join you. Another time I hope.

Like Otter, I've been at the hospital this morning and got the all clear for chemo number 6 on Thursday. Paclitaxel part 2 is on. Also like Otter, I am using codeine a bit, but not cocaine! Who else is scheduled for this week? I am also booked in for my pre-surgery consultation at the beginning of March which has made the next step v. real.

I've heard only brilliant things about Moving Forward courses and definitely intend to do one when I am finally in a position to move forward or move anywhere after surgery and radiotherapy. I think (know) I will find anxiety and worry about recurrence a challenge so I will take whatever I can get in terms of help/support.

I met someone last week who had BC five years ago and she told me that she is still in touch with several of the women she met via her monthly chemotherapy thread. She was thrilled to know that the threads continue and are as helpful/supportive/fun/encouraging as she found them.

Off to make my batter and ruin my floor/ceiling soon. Toodlepip. xx

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

Hi 🙃😊

Chemo brain I'm sure I wrote codine but cocaine might work better 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Hospital appointment went ok got go ahead for Thursday oncologist was thinking of not going ahead at all as I've been getting increased neuropathy but decided es it could be linked to my fibromyalgia not the chemo that we would go ahead. As I don't want to have gone through all this an not finish otherwise l would always be wondering if I might get it back somewhere else

They are doing a Moving forward course here in October so I've been booked on by my BCN as its run at the hospital

Not sure if I will do pancakes today will see how I feel later as got soaking wet on way back from hospital so feeling very cold and achy

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

It's all good advice and links xx thank you JC and Lesley 😘

Cocaine 😂😂 that's even better than morphine Otter 😉 I feel drowsy and very tired, exhausted actually, but MF is working 👏 I'm here, that's a good sign x Lesley, I don't think they wanted to experiment with the middle range drugs with me 😱 even my jaw and cheek bones were hurting 😱

Yes, ladies, hot baths with Epsom salts for less ridiculous pains than mine really work. But it has to be hot xx

Bythesea, I have a mastectomy booked in for mid May, after chemo, AnnaKarenina too; we'll still be together here for each other 😘😘😘

I managed a short walk in the rain today x
Stay warm and strong 💖💖💖💖

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

Thank you Lesley - I just checked out their website too. I guess you could always call them.

She also spoke about their someone like me, where you can phone or email and they will put you in touch with someone just like you. OH's, friends and family can use this service too.

We were given a copy of their Vita magazine & there is an article about hormone therapy and one on stress free travel tips which I shall read later.

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

Cocaine !! 😂😂

I think I may need that sometimes.

I hope you are all coping with the aches and pains I feel so lucky that I can manage mine on paracetamol and ibuprofen it must be so awful. Big hugs to all 💕💕. I wish I could do something to help. Positive vibes being sent too.

Happy wet Tuesday. Need to pop out for lemons for pancakes x

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

We will need to keep an eye on Otter during lunch, if she keeps nipping to the loo we know why!!!!

Pains are manageable, I'm getting off easy.  And as you say, at least it means that the injections are working!

The moving forward courses sound good - how do they normally promote them?

I do worry about ladies who don't know about half of the things that are around and forums like this to get you thru it all!

Re: November 2017 Chemo Starters

Otter - are you on cocaine??

Sorry to hear about your pains Lesley - I was advised by my unit to take paracetamol/cocodimol at regular intervals not just a one off. At least the pains show us the injections are working. How about a warm Epsom salt bath?

Last night I went to a local support group who had a speaker in from breast cancer care. She was promoting the moving forward courses. They're free and are held locally and run for 4 weeks. If you're 45 and under you can go on a free 2 day residential course . They cover a lot of topics from lymphoedema, menopausal symptoms, dispelling cancer myths to complementary therapies, relationships and activity and energy.
May be worth checking to see when the courses are run in your local area.

Good luck for today Otter and fmb 🤞

Happy Shrove Tuesday and enjoy your pancakes 🥞 xx
