Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Good morning Rosie and everyone, the best of luck with your trip and enjoy seeing your family, I am sure that will give you a boost even if the travelling is tiring. Rest lots too! I liked the sound of your fruit salad btw, very nutritious as well as full of fibre and I am going to try the same for my next one.

Bumblegirl, welcome and welcome to your Mum, if she joins she can read posts herself, she doesn't have to post if she doesn't want to. I think chemo is a huge challenge for all of us, but having had one FEC so far I feel that I will be able to get through that part of the treatment, it is tough for a few days but it is doable. We are all ages here too, I am 57.

Ashley, hope you are doing OK

Well it's a nice bright morning where I am and I am working at home this week, so I had better get the laptop fired up!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi bumblegirl get your mum to join. It helps to know that others are going through the same and a little worry can get ironed out on here.
Suzie68 glad you are doing well. Yes stuff yourself with fruit I haven't been too bad this round with constipation. Was fairly bad for 5 days the first time round.
EAM good luck with your second round at least you know what to expect this time round!
Ashley 97 good luck with first treatment come back to board after and let us know how you all are.
I do hope KIrstie will be home by now! Hope Wildpurl is ok and do hope I haven't missed anyone!
I am getting a little nervous now as I still feel a little delicate and tired its a big thing to be doing. Once we are in UK we will take our time. If I don't manage to touch base while away stay positive and calm everyone and I will catch up with you all Frid 25th when I will have had 3rd session! xxxxxxxxx

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind me posting on behalf of my mum. My mum is 54 and diagnosed in December 13, had lumpectomy January and mastectomy and all lymph nodes removed from under right arm in Feb. She has her first chemo in the morning at half 11. She will be having fec-t, 8 doses every 21 days and then rads and then hormone tablets. Chemo sounds so scary for her but I have been reading her posts on here and it has put her mind at rest a little that it is doable and that if something does go wrong ie infection the drs can fix it. Mum keeps saying she's going to join too but I think she's finding it all hard to talk about still. I hope you are all doing well xxx

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Kirstie hope they have finally let you go home what a nightmare for you. Rosie hope you have a good break and well done in getting through no2. EAM nightmare about your wig hopefully they will sort it before you need it. Welcome Jackie, I took books puzzles etc and a couple if ltrs of water, I didn't even need the books as was in and out in 1.5 hours. All of us who have had our first did much better than we expected and for me the SE have been minimal so far and I even managed a couple of glasses of wine and a take away madras last night which was day 12 for me, although dud regret it at 3.00am as I had the writer heartburn which I've never had in my life. The unknown is the worst part but the chemo itself was a doddle but I do have quite prominent veins. Personally I am going to avoid carbs for a few days before and after my next session as I had terrible constipation and I really don't think they helped. Have a good week everyone x

Auw you're going to have a busy time rosie14! It will be nice for you with what's going on & I'm sure you're husband will enjoy once the flight is over! Wow that's good & very encouraging that you know the chemo is already working!Smiley Happy. When you touch base on the 25th I will just have had my 2nd round!Smiley Happy. Hope you have a lovely time with you're family & take care xxx
Glad you had a lovely time with you're son ashley97Smiley Happy. Good idea,we're going to have a bit of a day out next wkend just before my 2nd round. Like rosie14 says we all have slightly different regimes - I was not given steroids before. Had to take an anti sickness tablet 1 hr before treatment, followed by more anti sickness just before the treatment went in. Was sent home with anti sickness tablets & steroid tablets that lasted about 3 days (to be taken at regular intervals)& another pack of anti sickness to take if required. I just took a bottle of water so was swigging that & they made me a cup of tea. I didn't bring any books/mags but the nurse was really chatty so didn't need to! A notebook would be handy - personally I take it to every appointment! Drink plenty of water on the way home to flush everything out! Will be thinking of you xxx

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Good morning to you all! Hope you are all feeling well and positive.

I am now on day 3 round 2 so still feeling delicate and fowl taste in mouth. My husband is not too happy about our forthcoming trip to UK tomorrow night so I am going to have to present as normal as I can tomorrow! I will rest up again today didn't do too much yesterday. After tomorrow you may not hear from me until Friday 25th as when we get back from UK I am straight back in for round 3! This is not ideal but I had booked the trip back before I was diagnosed with cancer and I didn't know I was going to be having chemo every 2 weeks for the first month. Apparently the tumor was 6cm, but the good news, I should have mentioned before, is after round 1 of chemo the oncologist said it has started to shrink! So I must hang on to this.

We are flying to Manchester tomorrow don't leave here until 10.35pm get into Manchester at 1.30am which will be 3.30am to us as we are 2 hours ahead. Hopefully I will sleep on the plane. Not keen on flying and usually have 2 big glasses of wine pre flight- obviously will not be doing that!!!! I have a face mask to wear and have been instructed to start injections the day after! Staying on the airport when we arrive at Premier Inn. After breakfast a leisurely trip up th Newcastle to see our daughter and 2 young granchildren for 3 days. Our daughter and husband are giving up their en suite bedroom in their new house for us! Then travelling down to midlands, should be back to normal by then, to see my sister and 93 year old father. We aren't telling my dad as my mother dies 27 years ago from cancer! Following this we are going down to Plymouth for 3 nights to see youngest son and his family. Then returning back up to Manchester. We are not venturing over to France to see eldest son! So this is a tall order but one that has kept me going.

I maybe able to use my daughter's i pad to get online and touch base. I am going to take my wig with me I just have a feeling that hair may start to come out as my head feels prickly when I touch my hair!

Have a good day everyone and do enjoy the good days! xx

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi Ashley97 welcome to the board where you will find lots of advice and an understanding ear. The first few days are when you tend to feel the most delicate. Most of us have felt nauseous and very tired. It is better to drink and eat something during chemo and to keep doing so after even if your body says no, little and often. Also take a magazine/puzzle book. Maybe a photograph of your little boy to remind you why you need to have this treatment. I have been given steroids to keep at home if I feel really sick and the anti sickness pills don't work. We all have a slightly different regime. The very best of luck and do keep in touch with us! x

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

hi all just thought I'd check in, I know I havent started my treatment yet (I start weds) but reading all your posts is keeping me really positive. I have just got in from taking my little boy out for our 'easter day' as he is going to stay with his grandparents from weds morning till easter monday to give me some time to
see how it all affects me. we spent the day in the new
forest then drove across to portsmouth harbour to
play on the amusements and have dinner it was a
lovely day, made me forget everything that was going
on :-) I hope you can get home soon kirstie77 and
sorry to hear about your hairdresser and your wig eam28. I had my picc line fitted yesterday and going for blood test monday and to pick up steroids ? havent actually been told what they are for, just been told to take them 24 hours before treatment?
just wondering if you are allowed to take drinks into chemo with you ? will I want to ? or is there anything anyone recommends i take with me ?

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Thank you ladiesSmiley Happy yeah Rosie 14 I shouldn't think my hair will fall out before they arrive just hope I like one of the ones she's chosen as not much time to change now! If it just thins I'll be fine as my hairs quite thick anyway. But yep kirstie77 maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised & you're right - in the circumstances I thought they'd be a bit more organized & compassionate!
Sounds like aerobics maybe too strenuous then. Will have to see if there's a yoga/Pilate's class around. I'm not very green fingered - I guess this could be a good time to learn!
I haven't got a clue about Facebook so if I joined I'd have to get someone to show me what to do!
Has anyone else got a runny nose? (not a cold)

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

That's okay then wildpurl I'm glad everyone isn't running off and I'm going miss lots and have to follow things in more than one place, I didn't want to be the only one that wasn't.

EAM my onc also said no swimming I quote "it would be like getting into a sea of germs" kinda put me straight off anyway :0), walking is all that's been recommended for me which is great as that sounds like me kind of exercise routine ;0) x
Member

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

EAM, my onc said no swimming and nothing too strenuous. Walking like you have been doing is perfect I think, also one of my fave things to do. He also said yoga and Pilates are OK. I enjoyed my class, it was good to stretch out.

I haven't asked to join the FB group yet. I agree it feels safe in here! I also think that if we post here then future chemotherapy patients can see how we coped and get answers to their questions, I have often looked at the older threads to see how people got on. If we go to FB then the value of this forum is not so great. But that's just my point of view, I'm certainly not saying people shouldn't go to FB if they feel it works better for them.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

EAM - that's awful about your wigs as if the hair loss thing isn't stressful enough, lets hope you are pleasantly surprised !
I picked my wig out and haven't heard back yet either but I don't think I like the one I picked now anyway, so I ordered a different one from simplywigs.co.uk, thats not arrived yet either so I'm just going to wait now, I also ordered a couple of buff head scarfs but I just think I look silly, I need to practice lol so many new talents to learn.

I love a bit of gardening can't wait til I'm able to get out and about in mine, although I think after all this i may become a hermit for the next 6 months and not leave the boundry of my house just be be sure ! Lol

The meals are pretty good to be honest Rosie especially now I can eat them :0) how are you feeling especially with your travel plans x x

Sending you a hug Jackie hope you are coping okay xxx

Has everyone done the Facebook thing ? I wasn't sure because I feel cocooned in here :0) x

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi EAM28 sorry to hear about your wig problem and hope they arrive soon! I don't think your hair will fall out before they arrive. I think I am loosing a few stray ones but apparently we lose up to 50 hairs a day anyway. My husband thinks I am being paranoid about the hair loss. x

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Not very impressed with my hairdressers! Rang this morning as picked out wigs last sat & she said prob fit them 2day but heard nothing since! She said they haven't arrived yet & has had to order different ones as a couple that I picked where marked in the book as NHS ones & they where marked wrong! Let's hope I like what she's picked & that my hair hasn't started falling out before they arrive!Smiley Sad
Blimey kirstie77 you really are going through the mill arnt you?! At least you where in the right place, how scary! Hope you're on the straight and narrow before you're next one.
Glad you're still going well rosie14Smiley Happy
Youre right wildpurl - our health comes first,no point in pushing ourselves. I used to do aerobics every week before all of this. Was thinking of going back on my good weeks but not sure about catching bugs?? I've heard swimming is out of the question!

Oh Kirstie I think you take the medal for all that has happened to you! I am glad you are safely back in the private hospital. I do hope your meals are better than the ones I was presented with? Bolied chicken with cold potatoes and veg huh it makes me feel sick thinking about it! Your right we will be tough cookies after this remember its only for a short time thank goodness.
Do get well soon and home! xx

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Kirstie I am glad it was all sorted out quickly, must have been very frightening for you. Hope you continue to recover and get to go home soon
Rosie, I agree you are amazing, sounds as though you are getting on OK, hope it stays that way.
Jackie, well done on your first, it sounds like you are coping well. I really empathise on the career front by the way, I am in a different profession but last year was made a head of department, thoroughly enjoying it but this year so far I have been off two months with surgery and now part time through chemo, don't feel I am exactly making my mark! But what can you do, our health is the most important thing and must come first.

The sun is shining here and the birds are singing their little heads off. I have my first Pilates class since starting chemo this morning and then hope to enjoy some gardening.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi Rosie your so fantastic, just thought I'd say that x

Well after yesterday I was transferred from the private hospital were I am to A&E in an ambulance with a suspected clot, (I couldn't breath) - honestly you couldn't write it ! It was good I was still in hospital though as they were really quick to sort me out, they gave more injections, scanned me and then I was returned back to my hospital where I was - at least I'm getting all my issues out in the first round !

Hope everyone is coping okay, it looks like it may be sunny here today xx

We are going to be some blinking tough cookies after this :0) xx

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

I chopped up strawberries, kiwi and grapes to take with me to hospital this time and it seems to have sorted out the constipation problem!

Hope you all had a good night's sleep, it was goood to be in my own bed last night even though I got out to the loo 4 times. This happened the first time round too, all the liquids they put in me working thier way out!

Woken up with the metal taste and can feel the nausea creeping in so will be taking a pill before breakfast. I don't seem to be so tired yet!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Well done jackie09! Sounds like a good start! I didn't get much sleep the first night either. Hope you continue to cope with it well.
I went to the pharmacy & got some proper mouth wash & am using my little girls bonjela! Not sure what's happening about my wig - the girl that's dealing with it not in till tomorrow so can't see her fitting me in then!
Glad you're fighting fit kirstie77 even though you're restricted!
I'm sure they'll start you wed ashley97 - my bcn said as long as you're bloods are fine they pretty much go ahead. I know what you mean - not working! My bcn advised me to take 8months off to get through everything,I did argue with her but as I work as a support worker for adults with learning difficulties theres a risk of infection & I don't want to let them down from one wk to the next! I've been off since end of Feb & not found it too bad,go on lots of walks, cleaning, declutter house, see friends, going to brush up on my sign language & may look into a book keeping course.
Auw sorry you feel a bit worse this time round rosie14. Hopefully youll get through the worst of it over the wkend & be ready for Mon!Smiley Happy

Whereabouts in Cyprus were you? We are on the West Coast not far from Paphos.I went to get my wig styled last week and had to wear it while the hairdresser cut it, She didn't charge me.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hello everybody,

A BIG thank you for all of your good wishes - I think they worked x x

I hope today has been a kind day to everyone x x So had my first round yesterday. Staff were very good with me - they know to treat me with kid gloves as I'm a bit of a baby!! I think actually getting the stuff, for some, is the easy part (unless of course they can't get a pesky vein). Got home around 2.30 ish and was in bed for 4.00 ish. Nausea came on around 6.30 and was armed with my tablets. TBH most of it I felt in my head for some reason and both my forearms felt very tingly. I kept Rosie's words close - drink plenty of water and nibble on crackers. I did that until about 11 where I think in actually got a quick sleep. Due to all water intake and fuzzy head, didn't really get to sleep til 3 ish - but al least I was awake to take my tablets. Got ondanstoden, but onc said take it days 2,3 and 4 - but going to ask if can take it straight away. So all in all, I think, compared to some lovely ladies I've not had it too bad, so I'm not complaining. I'm a bit of a worrier, so my onc has arranged for some gscf injections, so some achey bones to look forward to on Monday!
Just to introduce myself properly, I'm:
42, diagnosed 10 th March and having chemo first, FEC-T regime - 1 down 5 to go!!!
I'm married (10years this year) and have 1 little boy who's 7 and 2 dogs - both rescue
I'm a teacher, and was acting deputy head for 6 whole weeks before this threw a spanner in the works!!!
I've bought a wig - which actually looks better than my own hair!!
PS we used to have a house in Cyprus, so look forward to chatting to you Rosie to reminisce!

Love and strength to us all!!! X x x x

Hi all when I posted earlier I seemed to have missed a whole page of thread I'm so sorry loulou Jackie and Rosie, I must seem all about me ! I'm so so sorry !

Jackie, where else can we get out what in our head with others that have any sort of comprehension to how you might feel, loulou im sending you huge hugs xx

Rosie and Jackie I hope you are both okay, Jackie just take one day at a time x and rest I felt like by day 5 I should be better and I wasn't and then thought it was me being negative in my own head, I wasn't as it turned up but I was tough on myself and forced myself to do things I wasn't ready for so just go with the flow, my BCN said allow yourself 7 days xx

One note on the constipation, I had this issue too and also had lactulose, but movicol really helped me too, you can get it fom the docs, I just bought some over the counter for speed x

Rosie I'm still here they said expect to be here for the weekend ....

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hope you went ok Jackie09. I had second round yesterday. I am on 2 weekly for the first 2 months! I had the nausea feeling and fowl metal taste in mouth much quicker. But I have come out armed with plenty of anti sickness tablets and steroids. I shall take them I won't wait for it to get worse this time. Still hoping to be ok to fly to UK on Monday evening, have got to take 7 injections and I have a doctors note to get them through the security at airport!!!
Glad to hear most people are feeling much better. Yes EAM its the first 5/6 days that are the worst and then the unexpected pains from the injections! I shall have my painkillers at hand this time didn't know what it was first time round! Hope you are home now Kirsty? x

Well I'm still in hospital but am feeling so much better, I just have the horrible mouth too and indigestion at night but I find a cup of hot milk helps with this before bed.

They have told me I still can't go home as I have no immune system at all they used the word neo something or other and I have a sign on my door warning everyone and telling them gowns and gloves etc which is good but visitors are restricted so its boring but I seem to have a established a routine of sorts.

It is mad what the mind forgets, as although I'm still in hospital and won't be leaving anytime soon, my determination is back :0) xx

Have a good weekend ladies x

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi Ashley, I found that the days I feel really cr@p are no problem because I just lie on the sofa and sleep, and now I am feeling better although I am working I would happily do crafting or gardening or any of my hobbies if I wasn't working. The worst days were those when I felt too well to do nothing but not well enough to do anything, but luckily there were only a couple of those!

If you have or have thought of learning a skill or a hobby perhaps you could use the time to do it now?

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

hi all, booksandwine - I get the same feeling all the time, people moaning that they dont feel well or how crappy their lives are sonetimes you just want to scream at them. I had my picc line put in yesterday ready to start treatment Wednesday, and have my routine smear this afternoon. I have had a cold sore come up in the lay few days, I am assuming it is just because I am run down? wondering if they will still start my treatment ? hope so. my bcn had advised me not to work throughout treatment as I work in a children's nursery, so feel I am going to go stir crazy :-( - ashley xx

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Auw loulou1262 what a crappy day! Like Suzie & wildpurl say - its better that they are being cautious & going 'overkill' on it. Have they given you any info on that type of chemo, maybe worth looking it up if not - or ring this helpline about it all - I'm sure they would put it all into perspective for you. I got my smear done too in Jan & up to date with dentist, eyes - felt it was worth having an MOT! Hope you manage to get things sorted hun.
Thanks Suzie I hope I'm doing the right thing?! Its just each professional keeps telling me & has told me from diagnosis day that it will defo fall out with chemo so don't see the point in waiting for it to happen! You're right - got to try & carry on as normal, that's why my little girl still goes to her childminders once a week - so she thinks I'm off to work! Glad the senekot is finally workingSmiley Happy have been pretty OK with that side of things. Just a really sore, red mouth now - so now that I finally feel like eating it blooming hurts! Perhaps I should just eat ice cream everyday as I sure as hell won't feel like it in 2wks time!

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Really sorry you had such a stressful time yesterday loulou. I think Suzie has put it all into words better than I can, this forum is definitely the right place to let it all out.

I also had signs of vascular invasion, it is one of the reasons why chemo was suggested to me and why I decided to go through it. I think it is good they are going to err on the side of caution and give you the stronger treatment, that way you have the best possible chance of a successful outcome. All treatment decisions nowadays are based on evidence of what really works, I am confident your oncologist is doing the best thing for you and you are young and strong, you can and will get through this. We are all here for each other.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Oh Lou you are going through it today, it must have been awful for someone to tell you that as you were waiting to go in, not today it's her fault of course I just mean you were probably already nervous. I don't really know the difference between the macro and micro thing but one if have reason I'm having chemo before my rads is vascular invasion. From what I've read the cold cap just seems to delay rather stop the hair loss but you just need to do what works for you. We are all going yo gave sh#t days and weeks even, the while point of the forum is to be able to express our feelings to people who are in 'similar' circumstances and not worry about hurting loved ones or be judged or ridiculed for our thoughts and fears, if you can't do here babe you can't do it anywhere!! We all have breast cancer but our complete diagnosis and treatments are slightly different, we live in different geographical locations and different medical histories, some people's stories will resonate with us more than others but im sure have a common respect and empathy. My way of coping is to work and keep life as normal as possible, im not being blaze about it or don't think any less of those who chose or have to go off sick, but if i actually took the time to think about the what ifs it would go bonkers. EAM fair play to you taking control of the hair situation, I am planning in shaving when it starts going but not brave enough to do before, think I'm kidding myself it may not happen ! On a positive note day 4 of senekot had been successful 😃def getting something stronger next time ! Lou it doesn't rain but it pours, hope the smear was ok xx

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi all

Terrible day yesterday.... waiting for my onc appointment and got speaking to the lady next to me, her appointment was before mine and they were running late. After two hours she came out and came straight to me and told me she had been diagnosed with secondaries... Smiley Sad I really did not know what to say and was numb..when I was called in I was in a state of shock and scared.

Anyway they proceeded to tell me that the results back where inconclusive on the second node and a decision had still not been made as to whether it was micro or macro... they have decided to take tge side of caution and class me as two nodes positive and treat me with a strong chemo called TAC, not to be confused with TAX I was advised. They advised this chemo does not have much success with the coldcapSmiley Sad dont knowwhether to bother now and also the other SE are stronger than most...

Another thing mentioned was the tumor was showing vascular invasion which has scared me witless, this was just mentioned in conversation and when I initially asked after my pathology report came back I was advised there was none.

Sorry to put such a negative thread on but need to release it all I think.

Ps writing this whilst in the waiting room for my smear test !!

Onwards on upwards is what they say..... xx

Glad Wilpurl and booksandwine are feeling more human! I take my hat off to you ladies attempting to go to work. I have done small amounts from home. My husband and I own a small private school here in Cyprus and I was teaching a class of Year 1 pupils full time. I have been teaching for many years but have never experienced so many lively spirited, noisy, strong willed children in one class before! I think they finished my stress levels off! So I am not going back full time, but I still have a long way to go. Masectomy to follow, then rads! Well its 6.30am here 4.30am in UK due to be on chemo ward at 11am. Thanks for your good wishes! They keep me in overnight or else the private medical insurance won't pay- mad system! I will touch base with you all tomorrow when I get home. Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Yes thinking of you Rosie, good luck tomorrow. Susie you did well to work, I joined a teleconference today but could not have coped with the office I don't think and definitely not on Monday. I will start my week working from home this Friday.

I have been having the same digestive problems as you all but it has corrected itself naturally today and as a result I feel like a new woman. OH made fish and chips this evening which I have been craving for days and it tasted so good! I was afraid I would never enjoy food again...

I think you are right Susie, we have to celebrate the positives and make the most of when we are feeling well.

TJ god we must be twins today I walked along the canal changed the bed vacuumed ate a full dinner. Yep weekend I was rubbish and not too styly tuesday - Monday managed 3 hours at work least proved to all I look normal left as massive stomach aches yep that old chestnut constipation.

I got from the doctor today luctulose and also senna. Org they gave me laxido which seem to be fibre sachets and would work in around 24 hours but I rang back and stressed need for action. I've noted issue might look to ask for suppositories when I see oncologist I have had them in the past found good it others in forum have had the luctose one and said good

My roof of mouth and inside check also starting to feel wired I have difflam and biotene toothpaste but I will look to maybe get manuka honey

Please don't suffer ask for consty help and if I can work out good option mouth will share.

Best to you and all other amazing April angels

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Kirstie glad you are feeling a bit better, hopefully they will get you sorted before round 2. It sounds like most of us are not doing too bad. I have been so lucky with round 1, apart from nausea on the first few days I seem to have sailed through compared to some of you, my SE's have been minimal and went back to work full time on Monday, I'm a bit tired today and working from home the rest of the week as immune system will be low. Biggest problem really has been constipation, I am eating bloody senakot like is going out of fashion!!! Im not for one moment thinking this is an going to be an easy ride but I am making the most of the good days while they last. I'm armed with a wig, heathers hair piece, scarves and a variety of head gear to deal with the hair loss when that comes but everything seems pretty intact at the moment.

Good luck tomorrow Rosie with round 2, will be thinking of you.

Stay strong ladies and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.xxx

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Well there is light at the end of the tunnel! I can't believe how much better I feel today. It's amazing how the brain forgets the bad stuff. I felt really crap at the weekend, now feel almost normal. Went for a walk on the beach in the spring sunshine today. So for anyone else out there feeling rubbish at the moment, it does get better, so hang on in there.
Only side effects annoying me at the moment are a horrible claggy mouth and indigestion. Must admit I haven't done a poo for 2 days, so I'm going to hit the senekot tonight to avoid the horrors of conspitation. But other than that feel ok. Just hoping that I'm not speaking too soon.
I think next week might be a bit boring as will be trying to avoid people whilst immunosupressed, husband will be back at work, but the kids will be off school. But if that is all I have to put up with, then life is not too bad.
Hope everyone who was feeling rough will soon be feeling better.

Re: Anyone due to start chemo April 14??

Hi Ladies

I hope you don't mind me popping in from March group.......... have you been prescribed Emend for antisickness?........ It is prescribed in my area automatically....but other areas insist you have to be sick before you can be prescribed it due to the cost..........it works on the brain telling it to ignore sickness signals..............Also ..... I was told I don't have to take the steroids if I don't want to.......unless I feel really grotty and lack appetitie............Donna x
